Mom's Pecan Pie

¾ c karo syrup
½ c light brown sugar
3 eggs, lightly beaten
4 T unsalted butter, melted & cooled
½ t lemon zest
Pinch salt
1 T dark rum
2 c pecans
Unbaked pie shell

Combine it all and pour into pie shell. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, then at 350 degrees until golden.
